Judging Instructions

 

9: Modifications. Applies ONLY in Road Modified Competition (75 Points)

 

Marks will be awarded for:

                 1. Modifications to Exterior

                 2. Modifications to Interior

                 3. Presentation

 

 

1: BODYWORK AND CHROME : (115 Points)

 

The following should be considered when judging the Exterior:

                 1. Cleanliness and Smartness of Paintwork

                 2. Paintwork under Wings. (WORLD COMPETITION ONLY)

                 3. Fitment of Doors and Bonnet

                 4. Condition of Windows and Windscreen.

                 5. Condition and fit of Hood and Side-screens

                 6. Chrome Plating, Bumpers and Bright-work

2: ENGINE COMPARTMENT : (90 Points)

 

The following should be considered when judging the Engine Compartment:

                 1. Bulkhead and valences

                 2. Underside of Bonnet

                 3. Engine [Block, Crankcase, Rocker Cover(s)]

                 4. Engine Accessories [Carburetors, Injection system, Distributor, etc.]

                 5. Wiring, Pipes, Hoses, Control Rods and Cables

                 6. Lack of “Over-Restoration” (NOT in the Road Modified Competition)

3(a): WHEELS, WHEEL ARCHES and TYRES : (50 Points) World Competition only

 

The following should be considered when judging the Wheels and Wheel Arches:

                 1. Wheels, inside and out.

                 2. Wheel Arches.

                 3. Tyres, inside and out.

                 4. Steering Assembly.

3(b): WHEELS and TYRES only. (50 Points) ALL other Competitions

4: BOOT /REAR COMPARTMENT. (35 Points)

 

The following should be considered when judging the Boot/Rear Compartment:

                 1. Flooring/Carpet.

                 2. Tools.

                 3. Spare Wheel.

                 4. Boot lid underside/Rear Compartment side panels.

5: INTERIOR CLEANLINESS AND SMARTNESS: (90 Points)

 

The following points should be considered when judging the Interior:

                 1. Condition of the Upholstery (Seats)

                 2. Condition of the Interior Trim (Panels)

                 3. Cleanliness and condition of Carpets/Mats

                 4. Steering Wheel, Woodwork and Dash

                 5. Condition of Instruments

                 6. Fitments (Knobs, Switches, Handles, Pedal Rubbers, etc.)

                 7. Roof Interior/Hood Lining.

  6: CHASSIS. (70 Points) This section ONLY applies in the WORLD Competition

 

The following points should be considered when judging the Chassis Components:

                 1. Condition and Smartness of Chassis

                 2. Condition and Smartness of Springs & axles

                 3. Condition of Exhaust System, Brackets and Silencer(s)

7: EQUIPMENT: (25 Points)

 

The following points should be considered when judging the Equipment:

                 1. Lights (2 point deduction for each non-working light)

                 2. Horn

                 3. Tick-over

                 4. Road Tax /Exempt Disc.

8: CONCOURS d’ELEGANCE. (at CHIEF JUDGE’S DISCRETION, 75 Points)

This section does NOT apply in the Road Modified Competition

 

Authenticity/Originality

           When judging Authenticity, points will be deducted for anything not original such as:

           a. Non Original Wheels

           b. Non Original Type of Wings (Fibreglass, etc.)

           c. Non Original Components [Radios, Lights, Steering Wheel etc.]

           d. Excesses of Chrome

          

           Marks will not be deducted for things such as:

           a. Modifications required by law [Sealed Beams, Turn Lamps, Updated Tail Lamps, etc.]

           b. Any part which has been replaced that is indistinguishable from original.
